About this page
Available on this page are slides and assignments for a set of lectures on statistics applications by Prof. Anil P Gore, formerly professor of statistics at the Department of Statistics,
SPPU.
This lecture series took place at CMS-SPPU around 2005-06. It offers a
unique perspective on and insights about addressing real-life problems
using statistics. This lecture series is an invitation to indulge in
this flavour of statistics -- It exemplifies, beyond uncertainty, the
meaning of
John Tukey's oft-quoted remark, "The best thing about being a statistician is that you get to play in everyone's backyard."
Unfortunately, the lectures were not video- or audio- recorded back
then, but the slides and assignment material has survived. We are making
it available on this page with the permission of Prof. Gore.
